What is hatha yoga?

It is the branch of yoga which concentrates on physical health and mental well-being. Hatha yoga uses bodily postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation (dyana) with the goal of bringing about a sound, healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind.

I don’t teach a ‘style’ of yoga, I simply teach yoga – no brand, no school, no rules. My classes are rooted in tradition, but supported by modern anatomical understanding – so, no ‘one size fits all’!

Yoga in the Peak District

Lying on your mat on the soft grass, looking up at the blue sky with nothing but the birdsong and breeze for company (not forgetting your fellow ‘hens’)…sound good?

If you’re lucky enough to be staying at the incredible or for a group break, why not treat yourselves to a personalised, private yoga session? All mats are provided, and the session is guaranteed to be suitable for everybody in your party (although I can’t make promises if anybody’s suffering from a touch of the-morning-after-the-night-before). The session lasts approximately one hour, including time for relaxation, and it can be tailored to your group’s needs.

I can deliver private/group yoga sessions for that special family or friend getaway, onsite at your accommodation within the Peak District. Cost varies – please contact me for more information.
